If you have ever dreamed of standing at the foot of the world's tallest mountain, you can experience the awe-inspiring views of the Everest region for yourself. The incredible views will captivate you. Trekking to Everest Base Camp is a seriously epic adventure - far beyond the easy hiking.
You've probably spent hours scrolling over photos of the mountain and the rest of the surrounding landscape, and wondering what it would be like actually to be there in person.
But then reality sets in. You wonder if you're capable of doing something that epic.
The Everest Base Camp Trek is one of those adventures that changes everything. I'm talking about breathtaking Himalayan views that'll make you forget to breathe, hanging out with the Sherpa people who'll become your heroes, and standing at the base of Mount Everest–yeah, that Everest. Whether you've never done a serious hike in your life or you're already a seasoned mountain climber, this 14-day journey works for everyone, from total beginners to mountain veterans, older adults, and families who want their kids to experience what real adventure looks like.
At Himalayan Exploration Treks, we get it. We've been where you are, staring at that 65 km journey, wondering if we could pull it off. That's why we focus on keeping you safe through proper acclimatization, showcasing the authentic culture, and ensuring you don't feel like just another tourist.

You arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu (1,400 m/4,593 ft), and we escort you to your hotel. You will stay overnight at a comfortable 3-star hotel.
Here's where it gets real – you take a 35-minute flight from Kathmandu airport to Lukla (2,840 m/9,318 ft). Alternatively, if flights aren't available, you can drive 5- 6 hours to Manthali/Ramechhap (474 m/1,555 ft) and then take a quick 20-minute flight to Lukla. Then you start walking to Phakding (2,610 m/8,563 ft) – about 3 to 4 hours of your first real trekking. You'll sleep in a mountain lodge.
This is where your legs start figuring out what you've gotten yourself into. Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440 m/11,286 ft) takes about 5 to 6 hours—another lodge night.
Acclimatization day – you stay put in Namche Bazaar but hike up to Hotel Everest View (3,880 m/12,730 ft). It's 4 to 5 hours total at high altitude, but you come back down to sleep. Your body will thank you later.
Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3,860 m/12,664 ft) – another 5 to 6-hour day. The monastery here is something else.
Keep pushing from Tengboche to Dingboche (4,410 m/14,469 ft). Yeah, it's another 5 to 6-hour day, but you're getting stronger.
Another rest and acclimatization day. You hike up to Nangkartsang Peak (5,083 m/16,676 ft) – about 4 to 5 hours – but come back to the same guesthouse.
Dingboche to Lobuche (4,910 m/16,109 ft). It's getting thinner up here due to the cold, and you'll feel it for the next 5 to 6 hours.
The big day. You finally reach Everest South Base Camp (5,364 m/17,598 ft) and then head to Gorak Shep (5,190 m/17,028 ft). It is a long 8- to 9-hour day, but you did it.
If you thought yesterday was big, wait until you see the sunrise from Kala Patthar (5,555 m/18,225 ft). Then you hike down to Pheriche (4,240 m/13,911 ft). It's about 7 to 8 hours, but it's mostly downhill.
Back to Namche Bazaar (3,440 m/11,286 ft) – roughly 7 to 8 hours. You'll be amazed at how different it feels going down.
Final push back to Lukla (2,840 m/9,318 ft). It's another 7 to 8-hour day, but you're practically walking down now.
You fly back to Kathmandu (35 minutes) or catch that 20-minute flight to Manthali/Ramechhap, then drive 5 to 6 hours back to the city. Back to your 3-star hotel.
Congratulations, you made it! Transfer to the Airport for your flight home.

You don't want to be that person who packed the wrong things. Here's what actually matters:
Need the complete packing list? We've got a detailed one that works.
Winter and monsoon? Yes, it's harder, but with way fewer people and a different experience if you're up for it.
Here's the thing about altitude – it doesn't care how fit you are, and it can lead to acute mountain sickness if you're not careful.
I've seen marathon runners struggle while grandparents cruise right through. That's why we build on rest days and follow the "climb high, sleep low" rule. Our guides monitor you closely and recognize the signs of altitude sickness.
But the real secret? Drink water like it's your job, eat even when you don't want to, and sleep when we tell you to sleep. It's not glamorous, but it works.
Emergency helicopter evacuation is available (but you need insurance to use it).
The Everest region is fragile. Like, really fragile.
We're not just passing through—we live here, work here, and care about what happens after you leave. That's why we practice eco-conscious trekking, minimize waste, utilize sustainable resources, and ensure that local communities benefit from your visit.
You're not just a tourist checking off a bucket list item. You're helping protect something incredible for the next person who dreams of standing where you stand.
Look, you've been thinking about this for a while now.
It may have been years. Maybe you've been making excuses or waiting for the "right time."
But here's what I know – there's never going to be a perfect time. Your legs will never feel ready enough, your bank account will never feel full enough, and your calendar will never feel clear enough.
The Everest Base Camp Trek with Himalayan Exploration Treks isn't just about reaching Base Camp. It is about proving to yourself that you can.

I did the Phoksundo Lake trek with Kumar and it was a superb experience. It is an adventure, so you have to be willing to step out of your comfort zone, but Kumar always adapts to the unexpected and makes the trip as enjoyable as possible! The landscapes are magnificent, you meet lots of people along the way, and you really push your limits! Kumar is an excellent guide attentive, friendly, and his prices are very fair!
I recently did an annapurna curcit with my brother and his girlfriend. It was an amazing trek with the help of kumar and his team . It was one of the best experience of our life . The annapurna curcit is the best of the treks that people can choose for. I sincerely recommend this company for other travellers.
The 18-day Lower and Upper Dolpo tour was individually tailored to our needs by Kumar. Kumar had put together a great team of guide, cook and mule guide. This team fulfilled all of our wishes at all times during the entire tent trek. Narsang, our guide, is very attentive and careful along the entire route. Kumar is very reliable. He looked after us very well in the preparation and execution of our trek and during our stay in Kathmandu right up to the farewell at the airport. A highly recommended local company when it comes to individually planning a trekking tour. The trip was a great experience. Chris and Hajo
